Mun II (Archive)

^^ Craft Information - Telemetry Lost ^^

This mission to Mun will serve not only to place a lander on another stellar body for the first time in kerbal history, but the lander itself is a test, as it will hopefully next carry a rover onto the surface of Mun for advanced exploration. Currently the lander is carrying only science equipment, and extra ballast wieght has been added to simulate the mass it will have when it carries the rover. After months of deliberation the team has chosen to land within one of the large craters, in this case the Northwestern one. This will put the lander within easy hopping distance of several other areas of interest should the decision be made to move from the initial landing site.

Telemetry link issues prevented full data streaming from the craft on its journey to Mun, and even now a low-rate connection is all the craft can maintain for some reason controllers have yet to fully understand.

Prior to landing, all telemetry was lost once again and for the final time, as attempts to contact the spacecraft have continued to be unsuccessful. We are declaring Mun II to be lost and will be spending the next few days/weeks trying to determine if there is any issues with our communications network that need to be addressed.
